The ArcLight role for best supporting player is newly bestowed upon Pasadena by BRANDON PALAS
For die-hard cineastes, the ArcLight theaters in Hollywood and Sherman Oaks are like Shangri-La—pure viewing pleasure. This month, ArcLight branches out to Pasadena, with all its signature attractions: assigned seating, online reservations, Kinoton projection, JBL sound, extrawide seats with flip-up double-wide armrests enabling a loveseat experience—and, of course, that scrumptious caramel popcorn.
“We take great pride in bringing the ArcLight experience to a wider community of moviegoers and are eager for [San Gabriel Valley] residents to enjoy their favorite films in the best possible way—the way that allows them to be genuinely entertained, to truly escape,” said Christopher Forman, CEO of Pacific Theatres and ArcLight Cinemas. “ArcLight’s mission is to create an environment where people can build community around their shared interest in cinema.”
When asked about the next spot for the burgeoning theater chain, Forman demurs: “I don’t want to give away the end of the movie.”
The venue is nice, if a bit pricey, but you can enjoy food and beverages in your luxurious, reclining seat while watching a movie.
My complaint is that the only films they show are available in all other theaters... no classics, foreign or art films.
If they could offer superior films, I'd gladly pay the price, but for two people to see "Up" and have dinner & a drink is about $120.
